Title localization allows you to specify alternate titles for your BlackBerry browser launcher when it is used on BlackBerry devices that support different languages.
Here's an example:
Let's say your default title for your launcher is in English and is "My Site". To add localized titles for Dutch and Spanish you would:
- Select a locale from the Localization Locale drop down list.
- Enter the alternative title in the Localized Title field.
- Click the Add button.
For Dutch the localized title would be "Mijn Plaats".
For Spanish the localized title would be "Mi Sitio".
After adding a localized title it will appear in a table below the Add button. To delete a localized title just click the red "X" button next to the title.
As an extra feature, we support defining localized titles for national variations of a language. This way you can define alternate titles within the same language group to allow for alternate local spellings. For example, an
English (United Kingdom) localized title might spell the word "Colour" with the letter "u" while the
English (United States) localized title would be "Color".
Also note that if you specify a national variation of a localized title, for example let's use
French (Canada), you must also specify a general localized title for the generic French locale that will be displayed to French speakers not in Canada.
Description localization allows you to specify alternate descriptions for your BlackBerry browser launcher when it is used on BlackBerry devices that support different languages.
Here's an example:
Let's say your default description for your launcher is in English and is "My Site Launcher". To add localized descriptions for Dutch and Spanish you would:
- Select a locale from the Localization Locale drop down list.
- Enter the alternative description in the Localized Description field.
- Click the Add button.
For Dutch the localized description would be "Mijn Lanceerinrichting van de Plaats".
For Spanish the localized description would be "Mi Lanzador del Sitio".
After adding a localized description it will appear in a table below the Add button. To delete a localized description just click the red "X" button next to the description.
